My horse is a 48 in my saddle, but i just got a dressage saddle and I want to buy the right girth. What size dressage girth should i get if my horse is a 48?

i dont really know. we take our horses to the saddlery to get them fitted up proporly, maybe you could do this too.

My mare takes a 48″ girth for my close contact – and I believe a 26″ for her dressage saddle. Try a 24″ or a 26″ – it needs to be a bit bigger if it has fleece, but if you are using a synthetic, it can be a bit smaller.

I just bought a 17+ hand mare today we put the dressage saddle on and used a tape from a few holes on both sides and got 33″ but it still dont sound right for a dressage girth. I used a 52″ girth when we used a jumping saddle does any one know what this would equal or be close too?
