i make dust BARRELRACER asked:
My horse has high withers and the saddle always seems to sit right on her withers I was wondering if anyone new of some brands or if they have a saddle that is so sale that would fit my needs. And how good are like the flex tree onces. What about the circle y ones?

When your looking for a saddle you looking more for something that fits you. So if it rest right on the horses withers i would suggest just buying a withers pad, to bring it up a little, as well as preventing it from pinching.
hope that helps

try looking at bob marshall saddles they are treeless 12 lb barrel saddles but they are really hard to find, they bend to fit almost anyhorse

Circle Y does make a GREAT saddle! However you should try looking at semi quarter horse treed saddles (Which Circle Y makes nice ones.)
I just pulled up Circle Y’s catalog. The Kelly Kaminski saddle looks like it has plenty of clearance but does not state if it comes in Full QH Tree or Semi QH Tree (Just says “regular and wide tree”). This is model number: 2100 Shining Star…
Best of luck.

I don’t have much of an answer but I want to point out that Kayla is WRONG. First and foremost a saddle should fit a horse properly, and then the rider. Usually you can find a certain saddle that you like and which fits your horse, and then they will come in different seat sizes to fit the rider. But having an improper fitting saddle will cause your horse a lot of problems.
I have a mare with high withers and I found that saddles built for QH’s don’t fit her worth a darn. I think a lot of those saddles are made flatter, you need more of an A-frame. To find a good saddle you could look for a store that has a “trial ride” period (I think that’s pretty common), or depending on the type of place you go to and what your situation is, you might just be able to haul your horse to the store and try to fit saddles in the parking lot. I’ve done it…but then again I live in Wyoming where doing these things isn’t so weird!
Good luck!

I would agree with the Circle Y with Semi QH Bars or at least Semi QH Bars of any brand. Watch out with padding it changes the pressure points of the saddle and it can lead to an ouchy mount very quick. Good Luck!
