I have issues cantering. Sometimes I bounce up and down way too much, and sometimes my feet will start swinging so I nudge the horse and of course it goes faster. The stirrups also always start sliding up against my leg.... it's really uncomfortable. How can I keep my legs still, and keep my feet still in the stirrups? Any tips on riding the canter would be good- I'm kind of new at it.
I ride english, and the horses are polo ponies.

Rarely my horse might rear and he always turns extremely sharp. I feel I NEED stirrups to hold on. I am top heavy and without them I feel like I will fall off in a second when we are turning or in a trot. I am scared out of my mind with out the security of a saddle. I want to be a better rider and no matter what I do bareback I just don't seem to get better. Thanks!
